Pastor Joseph was looking for North Americans who might have interest in the needs of Nakuru and contacted Lynora Bayless through her ministry website, www.DevotedBodies.com. A friendship developed which led to her financial support, her son going to Nakuru to help for a month in 2010, developing and sponsoring this website to make others aware of the House of Power Center, and finally, agreeing to accept donations through her ministry account and wiring them to Nakuru.
"My son was so impressed when he witnessed the House of Power Center leaders fasting in earnest prayer a few days each week," says Lynora. "He was even more impressed and deeply moved when he realized the fasting was not only a spiritual necessity but a way of to make sure there was enough food for the children. I'm reminded of the words of Isaiah 58 describing what is dear to the heart of God: ...to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke...to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter--when you see the naked, to clothe him...then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: 'Here am I.'
